Sandakan Airport terminal upgrade to add boarding bridges, e-gates
Sandakan Airport is set for a terminal upgrade that will add two passenger boarding bridges, reconfigure the departure and arrival halls, improve air-conditioning and install e-gates at immigration counters. The works are expected to start early next year, with the Sandakan Tourism Association saying the improvements are timely for Visit Sabah Year 2027.

A three-day electricity disruption at an ice factory near Bandar Ramai-Ramai, Sandakan forced more than 20 fishing boats to postpone their trips. Sabah Electricity repaired cables and installed thicker ones, restoring supply on Thursday.

Sawit Kinabalu Sandakan Industrial Park to drive Sandakan growth
Sawit Kinabalu Chairman Datuk Hazem Mubarak Musa said the Sawit Kinabalu Sandakan Industrial Park (SK SIP) has the potential to drive economic and industrial growth in Sandakan, Sabah. He made the remarks after a site visit to several locations within the park, including the construction site for the new SKG Sandakan Region building and the Onshore Receiving Facility for the Sandakan Gas Development Project.
