Pearly Tan and M Thinaah believe nothing is impossible at the Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026 and refuse to set limits on Malaysia's medal chances. Thinaah said preparations are going well after returning from the China Masters, while Pearly said she has fully recovered from recurring injuries. The pair are expected to be among Malaysia's badminton hopes at the Games from 19 September to 4 October.

St Paul's Seremban honours five hockey Olympians at centenary reunion
St Paul's Institution in Seremban held its Old Paulians' Association centenary reunion on Sept 5, where five former students who became Malaysian hockey Olympians were given legacy recognition certificates and plaques. Franco D'Cruz, 79, accepted the award for himself and for his 1972 Munich teammate Brian Sta Maria, 76, who was in hospital. Stephen Van Huizen, Gary Fidelis and Suriaghandi Suppiah were also honoured.

The Mekdi National Sepak Takraw League 2026 for under-16 players offers a total prize pool of RM60,000, with zonal competition starting in Seremban, Sungai Petani and Gong Badak next month before the final in Kuala Lumpur in November. Organised by McDonald's Malaysia and Harian Metro, the league was launched at McDonald's Pantai Sentral Park by Youth and Sports Minister Dr Mohammed Taufiq Johari.

Selangor edge Sabah 2-1 to book FA Cup quarter-final spot
Selangor defeated Sabah 2-1 in the second leg of their FA Cup round of 16 tie at the MBPJ Stadium, advancing 3-2 on aggregate.
