Perak denies claim Taiping Hospital has no graduate medical officers
The Perak state government has denied a news portal's claim that Taiping Hospital has no graduate medical officers. State health committee chairman Datuk A Sivanesan said 93 graduate medical officers are currently posted at Malaysia's oldest hospital, though he acknowledged other shortcomings are being addressed. He spoke after a visit with Deputy Education Minister Wong Kah Woh at the hospital, and also addressed parking issues to be tackled through mechanical parking structures.

Body of man missing in Sungai Perak found 4km from scene
A 38-year-old man who went missing while trying to save his drifting boat in Sungai Perak has been found dead. Ahmad Zaki Elias's body was found floating about four kilometres from the scene by the Perak Fire and Rescue Department's water rescue team.

Caterer at Lenggong boarding school ordered to close after 159 fall ill
A caterer serving a boarding school in Lenggong, Perak has been ordered to close after 159 students and staff developed symptoms of suspected food poisoning. The Hulu Perak District Health Office inspected the premises and ordered the closure under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988.

Sumpitan village clinic and quarters destroyed in Lenggong fire
A village clinic building and a quarters in Kampung Sumpitan near Lenggong, Perak were destroyed in an early morning fire. The Perak Fire and Rescue Department received the emergency call at 4.04am and the blaze was fully extinguished by 6.24am. No victims were reported, but a Proton Preve car was also damaged.

Malaysian woman held in New Delhi, 15kg cannabis seized
A 22-year-old Malaysian woman from Perak was arrested at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi on 4 September after 30 plastic packets containing more than 15kg of cannabis were found in her trolley bag. She arrived from Kuala Lumpur on Batik Air flight OD205 and has a prior drug-related record, and remains in Indian custody.

Perak: residents' associations need approval before hiring security guards
Residents' associations in Perak cannot appoint or train security guards for Community Security Schemes without approval and compliance with regulations. State Housing and Local Government Committee chairman Sandrea Ng Shy Ching said the state is focusing on education and giving associations time to correct shortcomings before enforcement. Three men arrested, stolen excavator in Lenggong recovered
Police arrested three men suspected of stealing an excavator in Kampung Sumpitan, Lenggong. The suspects, aged 29 to 66, were detained in two raids in Ipoh and Gerik. Police also seized a Mitsubishi ES110 excavator and a mobile phone.

Ex-KPTM Ipoh administrator faces six charges over female students
A former administrator of Kolej Poly-Tech Mara (KPTM) in Ipoh was charged in court with six offences involving alleged criminal force against two female students and obscene words against four others. Roykarnaen Maseri, 44, pleaded not guilty to all charges, which were allegedly committed at the college and other locations in Ipoh between June and August. The court set bail at RM8,000.

Ipoh trader gets 30 years, 24 strokes for trafficking meth
A trader in Ipoh was sentenced to 30 years in prison and 24 strokes of the cane by the High Court for trafficking over 77 kilograms of methamphetamine. Man's body found in locked car in Bandar Sri Botani, Ipoh
A man believed to be around 30 years old was found dead inside a locked car in Bandar Sri Botani, Ipoh, early Tuesday morning. A fire broke out on a respiratory tube dryer machine in the Pediatric Ward's Respiratory & Hemodynamic Unit on the 6th floor of Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital (HRPB) in Ipoh last night. Hospital staff extinguished the blaze with CO2 extinguishers before firefighters arrived, and no injuries were reported.

Three factory workers in Ipoh arrested for stealing RM355,000 in production materials
Police arrested three workers of a factory in the Pulai Jaya Industrial Area, Ipoh, for allegedly stealing 64 rolls of production materials worth RM355,000.
