Alice Loke elevated to Court of Appeal, Elaine Yap confirmed as High Court judge
High Court judge Alice Loke Yee Ching is expected to be elevated to the Court of Appeal on Thursday, while Judicial Commissioner Elaine Yap Chin Gaik is expected to be confirmed as a High Court judge. The oath-taking and presentation of instruments of appointment are expected to take place at Istana Negara before Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar. The appointment will raise the number of Court of Appeal judges to 31 out of the constitutionally mandated 32 positions.

Awie promises 35 songs, five bands at Stadium Merdeka this Saturday
The Awie Rock King - Last Man Standing 2026 concert will be held at Stadium Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur this Saturday. Awie said the show features five segments with about 35 songs from five different bands he has played with, plus a line-up of top Malaysian musicians and artists. Rehearsals began about a month ago at MyStudio Sungai Buloh to ensure a tight performance.

National Lion Dance Championship and Asian Invitational to be held next month with 43 teams
The Malaysia North-South Lion Dance Federation has announced the draw results for its second national traditional southern lion dance championship and the 2026 Asian southern lion dance high-pole invitational tournament. Both competitions will be held on October 10 and 11 at HEXTAR WORLD IMPIRE CITY, attracting 43 local and international teams.

Azeez denies choosing to wear lock-up clothes, says it was police SOP
Former Baling MP Datuk Seri Azeez Abdul Rahim has denied claims that he chose to wear purple lock-up clothes and handcuffs when brought to the Sessions Court in Kuala Lumpur. His lawyer, Datuk Amer Hamzah Arshad, said Azeez was in police custody and was ordered to change clothes according to PDRM's standard operating procedure. The court allowed a two-day remand order against Azeez.

Chin Hin Group Property Bhd has entered the industrial property development segment with The NeX, an integrated industrial-commercial hub in Kota Damansara with an estimated GDV of RM449.4 million. The project follows shareholders' approval of the group's RM66 million acquisition of a 16,222 square metre leasehold industrial site. The development is expected to be completed by 2029.

LFE Corp wins RM23.87mil contracts for Ara Damansara commercial project
LFE Corp Bhd has secured three contracts worth RM23.87 million for electrical, mechanical and plumbing works at a commercial development in Ara Damansara, Selangor. The contracts, awarded to its subsidiary LFE Engineering Sdn Bhd, will run for 27 months starting December 2025.

LFE Engineering wins RM13.3m electrical subcontract for Ara Damansara project
LFE Corporation's subsidiary, LFE Engineering, has accepted a RM13.3 million subcontract for electrical and extra-low voltage works at a commercial redevelopment project in Ara Damansara, Selangor. The 27-month contract, awarded by Pembinaan Bina Bumi, is scheduled to run from December 2025 to March 2028.

Vox Choir Festival returns to DPAC with four nights of choral performances

Kwasa Land seeks approval to turn 60 acres of commercial land in Kwasa Damansara into homes
Kwasa Land, an EPF subsidiary, plans to convert about 60 acres, or 13%, of commercial land in Kwasa Damansara into residential plots, pending local authority approval. The move aims to rebalance the township's master plan after market studies showed the commercial component was too high. The township targets over 60,000 residents in five years and 100,000 by 2050.
