Mat Sabu: Malaysia needs rice self-sufficiency rate of at least 80pc for secure supply
Agriculture and Food Security Minister Mohamad Sabu said Malaysia needs to raise its rice self-sufficiency ratio to at least 80 percent to ensure secure supply. He spoke at an event in Serdang during MAHA 2026, also mentioning plans to explore integrating giant freshwater prawn farming with rice cultivation.
