Tze Chuan Kong holds Zhong Yuan Pu Du ceremony, 1400 ancestral tablets to honor filial culture
The Cheng Kong Chiang Teochew Association (Tze Chuan Kong) in Simanggang is holding its 17th annual Zhong Yuan Pu Du (Hungry Ghost Festival) prayer ceremony, featuring over 1,400 ancestral tablets. The three-day event includes various Taoist and Buddhist rituals, cultural performances, and a first-time participation of a troupe from Kuching. The association's leader emphasized the ceremony's role in preserving filial piety and cultural heritage.
