Air quality in four Sabah areas reached unhealthy levels as of 6pm, with Kota Kinabalu recording the highest API of 154. The Sabah Environment Department attributed the haze to transboundary smoke from forest and peatland fires in Kalimantan, and is stepping up enforcement patrols.
