Transboundary haze, squatter fire push Sabah air quality to unhealthy level
Sabah's air quality deteriorated on Sunday due to transboundary haze from Kalimantan and a local squatter settlement fire in Kota Kinabalu. One monitoring station recorded an unhealthy API reading of 142, while other areas remained at moderate levels. The Sabah Environment Department is stepping up enforcement against open burning.
