261 hotspots detected in Kalimantan

A total of 261 hotspots were detected in Kalimantan on Aug 31, with 63 more in Sumatra, causing haze to affect Sarawak and other parts of the region. The Department of Environment reported deteriorating air quality in Sarawak, Sabah and Labuan, with several monitoring stations in Sarawak and Kalimantan recording unhealthy to hazardous readings. The DOE Sarawak is conducting patrols and enforcement against open burning.
