Tugu Negara restoration expected to be completed by National Day 2027 - UMK

The conservation of the Tugu Negara, the world's tallest free-standing bronze sculpture group, is expected to begin next week and be completed before 31 August 2027, according to Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK). The US$250,000 project, supported by the US Ambassador's Fund for Cultural Preservation, involves UMK as a research and knowledge partner, providing training to over 50 Malaysian conservation students and professionals. The initiative was launched in Putrajaya, but the monument itself is located in Kuala Lumpur.
