Bhotekoshi flood ice mass estimated at 25 million cubic meters

An estimated 25 million cubic meters of ice and snow collapsed from the Langtang area in northern Nepal, triggering a massive flood in the Bhotekoshi River. The impact was compared to a bomb blast and a 5.2 magnitude earthquake, causing damage near the Rasuwagadhi border crossing. Scientists from several universities are studying the event.
