Ecology NGO backs government's halt on new pollution licenses from 2027
The Malaysian Ecological Association (PEM) has fully supported the government's decision to stop accepting new applications for pollution licenses under the Environmental Quality (Clean Air) Regulations 2014, effective January 1, 2027. PEM President Prof. Dr. Ahmad Ismail said the move aligns with the commitment to preserve national air quality and stressed the need for stronger law enforcement and environmental education.
