CAAM chief: aviation industry must make safety personal after Sarawak crash
The Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia chief executive Norazman Mahmud told the Malaysia Aviation Safety Seminar 2026 in Kuala Lumpur that industry players must treat safety as a personal duty and use safety intelligence, including AI, to prevent accidents. He referred to the Long Lellang Flying Doctor Service helicopter crash in Sarawak two days earlier, which killed five people, and said the goal is zero fatalities.
