MOH risks losing nicotine control to KPDN
The Health Ministry risks ceding control of tobacco and nicotine products to the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry. The Madani government is expected to table a new bill classifying these products as regular trade commodities, bypassing the Poisons Act 1952 and the Poisons Board. This follows pressure from the RM3.48 billion vape industry and over RM354 million in potential tax refunds.
