Thai temple abbot arrested over 92m baht embezzlement and sex with devotee

The former abbot of Wat Phra Sa Wang, a royal temple in Ayutthaya, Thailand, has been arrested on suspicion of embezzling and laundering 92 million baht (about RM11.35 million) in temple funds, and was also found to have had a long-term sexual relationship with a 47-year-old female devotee in a meditation room. The woman, nicknamed 'Sister Ai', was given a special stall at the temple and ran an online prayer service while providing her bank account to transfer temple donations.
