Iran president says Hormuz can reopen if US lifts blockade

Iran's president Masoud Pezeshkian said in an interview with Indian media that the Strait of Hormuz could reopen, tied to the US ending its blockade of Iranian ports and halting military action. He said Iran and Oman will sign a new shipping route agreement in Muscat on Monday, with Gulf Arab foreign ministers attending, before it goes to the International Maritime Organization. The strait carries about 20% of global energy shipments, and has been disrupted since US and Israeli strikes on Iran in late February.
