Health Ministry braces for possible rise in patients as insurance costs climb
Malaysia's Health Ministry is strengthening strategic planning to prepare for a possible increase in patients at public hospitals following reported rises in health insurance costs of 15 to 20 percent a year. Health Director-General Datuk Seri Dr Mahathar Abd Wahab said the premium increase issue is being studied through a joint committee between the Health Ministry and Finance Ministry, alongside the MediAsas affordable takaful insurance programme.
