A 44-year-old man held a 23-year-old male Cathay Pacific intern at knifepoint inside the airline's staff rest room at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport Terminal 1 on Saturday. Airport police deployed shields and tasers and ended the roughly 23-minute standoff by rescuing the hostage. The incident occurred in the staff rest room, not in the departure immigration area.
