MACC chief commissioner Azam Baki denied claims that the Tabung Haji investigation was directed by 'higher-ups', stressing the probe is conducted without fear or favour. The agency has opened 14 cases based on the royal commission report, arresting 18 people, remanding 11 and summoning 245 witnesses, with searches at 60 locations. Two issues have led to charges involving the former CEO and officials of two subsidiaries over alleged misappropriation.
