PGA detains 171 for illegal border crossings in Kelantan

Malaysia's General Operations Force detained 171 people for crossing the Malaysia-Thailand border illegally in Kelantan between January 1 and August 31. Of those, 110 were Malaysians, 58 Thai nationals, and one each from Indonesia, Myanmar and Nigeria. The cases are being investigated under Section 5(2) of the Immigration Act 1959/63, with patrols focused along Sungai Golok.
