NUS team uses magnetic pulses to turn immune cells against breast cancer
Researchers at the National University of Singapore have shown that low-intensity pulsed electromagnetic fields can convert immune cells that normally promote tumour growth into cells that attack cancer. In pre-clinical models, four 30-minute sessions wiped out tumours in 75 per cent of cases, without chemotherapy. The work, led by Alfredo Franco-Obregon of the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, was published in the journal Smart Medicine on June 4.
