Dollar firms, yen near seven-month high ahead of Fed and BOJ meetings
The US dollar strengthened on Monday while the yen hovered near a seven-month high, as investors weighed likely rate hikes from the Federal Reserve and Bank of Japan this week. Brent crude rose nearly three per cent to above US$107 a barrel after Houthi strikes on Saudi Arabia and attacks on ships in the Gulf compounded supply worries.
