Gold holds near US$4,350 as US inflation lifts rate-hike odds
Gold steadied around US$4,350 an ounce after three weekly losses, as hotter US core inflation raised the chance of a Federal Reserve rate hike this week. Traders price an almost 90% chance of the first increase in three years, while Brent crude rose toward US$107 a barrel on Middle East tensions. JPMorgan's Yuxuan Tang said a hike would pressure gold further, but a hold would support it.
