Jamil Khir charged with misusing RM860m of Tabung Haji funds
Former religious affairs minister Jamil Khir Baharom was charged at the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court on Sept 14 with misappropriating RM860 million from Tabung Haji, pleading not guilty and receiving RM300,000 bail. He is the second UMNO leader charged over the pilgrimage fund in two weeks, after former Tabung Haji chairman Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim, with several other UMNO figures also facing charges as tensions rise within Anwar Ibrahim's coalition.
