Malaysian jailed in Singapore for driving SMS blaster that sent 10,000 phishing texts

A 28-year-old Malaysian man, Ong Kak Seng, was sentenced in Singapore to one year and nine months' jail and a S$1,500 fine for driving around the island with an SMS blaster that sent over 10,000 phishing messages. He was paid RM1,000 a day by a man known as Bai Ge to operate the device, which mimicked mobile networks to push messages to nearby phones. He pleaded guilty to cheating as part of a criminal conspiracy.
