Brent tops US$107, BUDI subsidies shield Malaysian consumers
Brent crude rose 2.8 per cent to US$107.54 a barrel after attacks on Saudi energy infrastructure and ships in the Gulf. RAM Ratings said 69 per cent of Malaysia's 2025 crude imports came from West Asia, but BUDI95 and BUDI Diesel subsidies are limiting the direct impact on consumers. The government faces higher fiscal costs if high prices persist.
