US 10-year Treasury yield tops 5% as oil prices climb
US Treasury yields rose above 5 per cent for the first time since 2007, with Japan's 10-year bond yield also hitting a 30-year high, as higher oil prices unsettled investors before central bank meetings in Washington and Tokyo. US crude rose to US$103.24 a barrel and Brent to US$107.37 after attacks on Saudi oil infrastructure renewed supply concerns. Asian shares fell, led by South Korea, while the dollar edged up.
