Central Singapore records highest PSI as haze persists over a week
Singapore's central region has consistently recorded the highest PSI and PM2.5 readings among the five monitoring regions since Sept 4, reaching 154 at daybreak on Sept 15. Experts attribute this to urban heat and turbulence trapping haze particles from Indonesian forest fires, while dry conditions add local pollutants. All parts of Singapore registered unhealthy air on the morning of Sept 15, the first time since 2019.
