The federal government has increased Sarawak's interim special grant from RM600 million to RM1.5 billion, announced by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim during the national Malaysia Day celebration in Kuching. Political analyst Datuk Dr Lee Kuok Tiung says the increase strengthens confidence in Putrajaya's commitment to MA63 negotiations and sets a new benchmark for future financial talks.
