Carolan confident Speedy Tigers can reach 2026 Asian Games final
National hockey coach Brendon Carolan believes his Speedy Tigers squad can reach the final of the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games and secure a ticket to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics. He said the team has shown improvement in its playing pattern and defence over the past two and a half months, and is targeting wins over Pakistan and China to top Group B.

Citaglobal wins RM82.1mil subcontract to build residential college at IPG Lembah Pantai
Citaglobal Bhd, through its wholly owned subsidiary Citaglobal Land Sdn Bhd, has secured an RM82.1 million design-and-build subcontract from Purnama Base Sdn Bhd. The project covers a residential college at the Institute of Teacher Education's Malay Language Campus in Lembah Pantai, Kuala Lumpur, and is due for completion on 30 June 2028. The 22-month contract is expected to contribute positively to the group's earnings.

George Kent (Malaysia) Bhd's subsidiary GK SuperTech signed a binding term sheet with Shandong Extreme Vision Technology for exclusive rights to rebrand, market and sell Extreme Vision's AI algorithms and large models in Malaysia and Singapore. The collaboration includes deploying Vision AI at George Kent's manufacturing plant in Puchong as a pilot smart-manufacturing site, with plans to expand across Asean.

Comedian Achey has denied claims that the poster for his latest film, Keranda Tan Sri Terbang, was produced using AI technology. Woman hurt as car flips after hitting raised road fixture in Petaling Jaya
A 46-year-old woman was injured when her Honda City overturned after its left tyre struck a raised metal road fixture on Jalan Gasing-Jalan Templer in Petaling Jaya at about 7.10am. She was taken to Assunta Hospital for a leg injury. Police say the poorly maintained fixture caused the crash and are investigating under the Road Traffic Rules.

MHC tells national hockey players to ignore negative social media posts
At a press conference at the National Hockey Stadium in Bukit Jalil on Friday, Malaysian Hockey Confederation deputy president Datuk Ahmad Najmi Abdul Razak urged national players to ignore negative social media comments and focus on the Asian Games. Carolan under pressure as Malaysia name Asian Games hockey squad
Malaysia Hockey Confederation wants the national men's team in the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games final, where gold earns a place at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. Female drummer Naimi Daini will make a special appearance at the Awie Rock King - Last Man Standing 2026 concert at Stadium Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur tomorrow. Selangor overall champions of Para SUKMA 2026, Amirudin hopes athletes reach world title
The closing ceremony of Para SUKMA 2026 was held at the Selangor International Trade Centre (STIC), with Selangor emerging as overall champions for the first time since the games began in 1982. Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said he hopes national para athletes will go on to become world champions, and noted the age limit of under 40 for athletes. Selangor collected 93 golds, 55 silvers and 52 bronzes, followed by Sabah and Sarawak.

The larger asset, Mines Waterfront Business Park in Petaling, Selangor, carries a RM152.77 million reserve and is due for auction on Nov 4, while a 6.41-acre commercial parcel in Country Heights, Kajang, will be auctioned on Sept 21 with a RM55 million reserve.
