Police arrest five Orang Asli in Bera over alleged obstruction of enforcement operation
Police arrested a man and four women, Orang Asli aged in their 30s to 60s, after they allegedly obstructed enforcement personnel during an operation at the Tasek Bera Conservation Forest Reserve in Bera yesterday. Pahang Fisheries sends samples of suspected piranha from Klau Dam to research institute
The Pahang Fisheries Department has sent video and photos of a fish claimed to be a red-bellied piranha found at Klau Dam in Raub to the Fisheries Research Institute in Glami Lemi, Negeri Sembilan, to confirm the species. Investigations found the fish was netted by a local on Aug 26 and died before being discarded, with no similar catches reported since. The public has been advised not to speculate until the species is confirmed.

SWCorp Pahang: litterbugs offer higher fines to avoid community service
In Kuantan, SWCorp Pahang said some littering offenders tried to pay higher fines rather than carry out community service orders, including cleaning drains. A total of 3,295 notices were issued across Pahang from 1 January to 14 September, with about 200 offenders ordered to do community service in four districts.

Pahang haze worsens, all five API stations record unhealthy readings
Hazy conditions and reduced visibility hit several areas in Pahang today, with all five API monitoring stations in the state recording unhealthy readings. Indera Mahkota in Kuantan recorded 164, the highest in Pahang since the haze began, and schools in Kuantan have suspended outdoor co-curricular activities. A state committee chairman advised residents to limit outdoor activity, avoid open burning and wear masks.

Rela member dies in three-vehicle crash on Jalan Mempaga-Sertik; three flee
A Rela member riding a motorcycle was killed in a three-vehicle crash on Jalan Mempaga-Sertik in Bentong at about 7.30am yesterday. The three occupants of a Myvi abandoned the car and fled into a nearby oil palm plantation, and police have launched a manhunt. The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Delivery rider arrested in Temerloh with drugs, imitation pistol
Police in Temerloh arrested a 29-year-old delivery rider after finding an imitation pistol and drugs worth about RM1,000 in his car at Paya Keladan on Sept 12. The man, from Bera, tested positive for drugs and has been remanded until Sept 15 under the Dangerous Drugs Act and Arms Act.

Wadda Gurdwara Sahib Penang reopens after RM6 million restoration

Thai man found drowned in Sungai Golok near Rantau Panjang

Motorcyclist dies after hitting MPV on Temerloh-Kuantan road

Porsche Cayman destroyed by fire at Lanchang toll plaza exit ramp

Temerloh crash: girl, 9, dies after being thrown into oncoming lane; father suffers heart attack

Radzi Jidin wants a national plan on stray dogs, starting in Putrajaya
Putrajaya MP Radzi Jidin has urged the government to draw up an integrated action plan to rid Malaysia of stray dogs, beginning with the administrative capital as a model stray-free city. Ceiling fire at Hospital Jengka paediatric ward, 21 patients moved
A fire broke out in the ceiling of the paediatric ward at Hospital Jengka around 7pm, forcing 21 patients including 11 children to be moved. Ten female patients and three children were sent to Hospital Jerantut while eight children went to Hospital Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah in Temerloh. Fire in Jengka Hospital ward ceilings, 17 escape unhurt
A fire broke out in the ceiling space of the paediatric and women's wards at Jengka Hospital in Maran, Pahang, on Tuesday night.
