Police arrest man with 27 criminal records over wife's assault in Cheras
A man in his 30s with 27 prior criminal records was arrested over the assault and slashing of his wife in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur. The victim, in her 40s, was treated at Ampang Hospital and lodged a police report after discharge. The suspect, who tested positive for drugs, was remanded six days and released on police bail; the case is investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code.

Indian national held two days after Cheras snatch theft
An Indian national was arrested in Kuala Lumpur on 1 September, two days after he allegedly snatched a local man's necklace at Cheras Business Centre on 30 August. Police recovered the chain and the suspect is remanded until 20 September under Section 392 of the Penal Code.

Box suspected to be a bomb outside Sri Petaling shop was team-building equipment, police say
Police said the toy bricks found in a box outside a shop in Sri Petaling, Kuala Lumpur, that was initially suspected to be a bomb were part of team-building equipment. The Brickfields police chief said a company director confirmed the box belonged to his firm, and a worker left it behind after a team-building event in Ipoh on Sept 11-12. The bomb disposal unit was called in and later checks confirmed no radioactive material was present.

2,373 students join Young Curators museum programme at 32 museums
A total of 2,373 students took part in the 'Bermalam di Muzium' 2026 programme, themed 'Young Curators', held at 32 museums nationwide from Sept 15 to 16. Bermaz Xpeng begins G6 CKD customer deliveries in Malaysia
Bermaz Xpeng has started customer deliveries of the locally assembled Xpeng G6, with the first batch handed over at Kuala Lumpur Tower. Foreign workers occupy KL apartment utility rooms, run illegal motorcycle repair
At an affordable housing apartment on Jalan Ipoh in Kuala Lumpur, seven or eight Bangladeshi workers have been occupying equipment and pump rooms as living quarters and workshops, storing motorcycle tyres, black oil and petrol, and running an illegal motorcycle repair operation. Residents say one was seen showering in a women's toilet near the pool, and they have lodged three police reports and referred the matter to the COB, the strata management tribunal and Kuala Lumpur City Hall.

Immigration raids 11 premises on Jalan Chan Sow Lin, 30 foreigners held
Malaysian Immigration officers raided 11 premises in the commercial area of Jalan Chan Sow Lin, Kuala Lumpur, in Ops Serkap at midday yesterday. Thirty foreigners were detained, including 11 Bangladeshis suspected of running the premises, while 19 others were held for various immigration offences. Seized items included 18 laptops, 21 printers and scanners, three mobile phones, 10 Bangladeshi passports, and suspected fake e-PLKS and police reports sold at RM150 and RM70 each.

Elepfilm hopes Konspirasi gets a cinema re-release
Elepfilm Entertainment hopes its film Konspirasi can return to cinemas after its run was halted on 28 May. Executive producer Jack Yeoh said a target date exists but official support from FINAS is still pending, and the company also plans to take the film to Taiwan and South Korea.
