United Asiapac seeks injunction against founder over RM126,000 salary dispute before IPO
United Asiapac Energy Bhd has filed a Fortuna injunction to stop its ousted founder from presenting a winding-up petition over a disputed RM126,000 salary claim. The legal action was filed at the High Court of Malaya on Sept 3, days before the company's rescheduled stock exchange debut on Sept 14. The dispute is part of a broader legal feud between the company's management and founder Farah Sabryna Nasarudin.

MGA: Gas still vital in energy transition, demand expected to rise
Malaysian Gas Association (MGA) president Abang Yusuf Abang Puteh said the energy transition will not eliminate the need for natural gas, with demand projected to rise from 41 MTOE to 57 MTOE by 2050. He stressed the need for comprehensive gas and LNG infrastructure to ensure supply security, while acknowledging that greater LNG reliance exposes Malaysia to international price fluctuations. He spoke during a panel session at the Oil and Gas Asia 2026 conference in Kuala Lumpur.

Malaysia-Japan trade up 11.8% to US$23.3 billion
Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani said bilateral trade between Malaysia and Japan rose 11.8 percent to US$23.3 billion in the first seven months of 2026. He expressed the desire to deepen economic cooperation with Japan in his keynote at the 43rd MAJECA-JAMECA Joint Conference.
