RTD to step up Op PEWA enforcement against foreign motorists
The Road Transport Department will intensify enforcement against foreigners driving without valid documents, and vehicle owners who lend them vehicles will also face action. Director-general Aedy Fadly Ramli said the move follows existing operations such as Op PEWA, with hotspots identified in several states.

Sarawak police chief Mohamad Zainal to be Bukit Aman management director from Oct 19

Armed Forces chief proposes reviving NTF to curb undocumented migrant entry
Malaysia's Armed Forces chief General Tan Sri Malek Razak Sulaiman has proposed reviving an integrated operation modelled on the disbanded National Task Force (NTF) to curb the entry of undocumented migrants. The proposal was discussed in the National Movement Planning Committee and forwarded to the National Security Council for the government's consideration. The NTF, which involved 18 government agencies, was officially dissolved on 31 December 2022.

Sabah leaders demand apology over Umno delegate's joke about Catholic clergy
Sabah political and religious leaders have called on Sepang Umno chief Noorazli Said to apologise for a sexual joke about Catholic priests and nuns made at the recent Umno general assembly. Upko's Tuaran MP Wilfred Madius Tangau and Sabah BN chairman Arthur Joseph Kurup led the condemnation, with Umno veteran Salleh Said Keruak also urging an apology.

SUPP Youth chief urges care over religion in political speeches
SUPP Youth Central chairman Kevin Lau has called for greater sensitivity in political speeches after an Umno leader used a story about a Catholic priest and nun, and referenced Psalm 129, during the Umno General Assembly 2026. Lau said Catholic clergy and scripture should not be used as political material and urged an apology if the reference was inaccurate. He stressed that free speech carries responsibility in multi-religious Malaysia.

Abang Johari: Trust key to Sarawak's progress, RM685m given via UNIFOR
Sarawak Premier Abang Johari Tun Openg said trust among Sarawak's people is as important as physical infrastructure for the state's development. Speaking at a Thanksgiving Ceremony for Other Religions at Pullman Hotel in Kuching on Monday, he noted RM685 million has been approved through UNIFOR since 2017 for non-Muslim houses of worship and mission schools.

DBKL denies barring 500 enforcement officers from acting on premises

Tun Jugah's son recalls Sarawak's path into Malaysia in 1963
Tan Sri Leonard Linggi Tun Jugah, 86, recalls listening to the Malaysia proclamation on radio in Nanga Gaat, Kapit, while his father Tun Jugah Barieng witnessed it at the Central Padang in Kuching on Sept 16, 1963.
