Treasury: Rural road project payments delayed as allocation nearly exhausted
The Treasury said contractors for rural road projects have faced delayed payments because most of this year's allocation has been spent. Treasury Secretary-General Johan Mahmood Merican stated an additional RM300 million has been approved to help settle outstanding payments. The ministry overspent its approved allocation for rural roads in each of the past three years.
