Galen Centre urges Malaysia to recruit foreign healthcare workers to fill staffing gaps
The Galen Centre for Health and Social Policy has called on Malaysia to aggressively recruit foreign healthcare professionals to address critical staffing shortages in the public health system. The think tank's CEO, Azrul Mohd Khalib, said local supply is insufficient and proposed that the 2027 Budget fund a multi-year recruitment and retention programme. The centre also suggested establishing an independent Health Services Commission.
