Petronas CEO: Oil sector must see volatility as new norm, not crisis
At the opening of Oil and Gas Asia 2026 in Kuala Lumpur, Petronas CEO Tengku Muhammad Taufik Aziz said the industry must treat energy volatility as a permanent feature, citing the Strait of Hormuz closure and past shocks. He added that Petronas aims to sustain Malaysia's oil and gas production at two million barrels of oil equivalent per day through 2028.
