Helmi: If N95 masks are hard to find, use KN95 or double-layer surgical masks
Facing haze threats, public health expert Professor Helmi from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak advised that if N95 masks are hard to find, high-protection alternatives like KN95, KF94, or FFP2 can be used. He stressed that correct wearing is more important than the type of mask, and double-layering surgical masks can raise filtration efficiency to about 66%, though still less than a properly worn N95.
