Safety Group Urges Risk-Based Management for LPT1 After Fatal Crash
Following a fatal multi-vehicle accident on the East Coast Expressway Phase 1 (LPT1) that killed four people, the Community Safety Alliance (PIKS) has proposed shifting highway safety management from analyzing past accidents to identifying and managing risks beforehand. Its chairman, Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye, highlighted speed as a key risk indicator and called for comprehensive, periodic safety audits.
