Health Ministry tightens air cargo controls with customs, border agency to fight drug smuggling
Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad announced a strategic collaboration between the Health Ministry, Royal Malaysian Customs Department and the Border Control and Protection Agency to tighten controls on cargo and air entry points to combat illegal medicine smuggling. He spoke at the Kembara TOBaTS Borneo Zone program in Tuaran, Sabah, which was officiated by Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor. Nationwide seizures of illegal medicines reached RM132.4 million from 2023 to 2025, with Sabah accounting for nearly RM4.507 million.
