UK air traffic boss summoned to explain outage that grounded 2,000 flights

Britain's transport minister has summoned the head of air traffic control provider NATS, Martin Rolfe, to explain a major system failure that disrupted flights on Tuesday and Wednesday. The outage led to the cancellation of about 2,000 flights, with airlines like Ryanair and British Airways reporting significant financial and passenger impacts. NATS said the issue affected its flight data system at Swanwick and ruled out a cyberattack.
