Pisa 2025: Malaysian students score higher in science and reading, maths drops 11 points
Malaysia's Pisa 2025 results show improvements in science and reading, with scores of 419 and 393, but mathematics fell 11 points to 397. The findings also show Malaysian 15-year-olds are more curious, persistent and willing to seek help than the OECD average, though parental support for learning has declined. Education minister Fadhlina Sidek and OECD's Andreas Schleicher highlight the need to turn these attitudes into deeper critical thinking, especially as AI use in learning rises.
