Sarawak minister orders SEB probe into electricity bill spikes

Sarawak's utilities and telecommunications minister Julaihi Narawi has instructed Sarawak Energy Berhad to investigate complaints of sudden electricity bill increases, including unusually high charges, and to explain the matter through its top management. He said this on Wednesday at a press conference in Kuching for the 2026 Sarawak International Digital Economy Conference. SEB had earlier said it was ready to recheck the disputed bills.
