Sarawak expands infectious disease surveillance to rural areas
Sarawak is expanding infectious disease surveillance to rural communities through a community-based programme run by the Sarawak Infectious Disease Centre (SIDC). Premier Abang Johari Tun Openg said SIDC is monitoring TB, malaria, dengue, HPV, rabies and filariasis, with rollout across Sarawak expected to be completed by end-2026. He spoke at the SHInE International Conference 2026.
