MBSB Research: Budget 2027 spending may reach RM440.9 billion, deficit narrowing to 3.3-3.5%
MBSB Research expects Malaysia's Budget 2027, to be tabled on Oct 9, to raise federal expenditure to a record RM440.9 billion from RM421.2 billion, with development spending rising to RM85-90 billion. The research house sees the fiscal deficit narrowing to 3.3-3.5% of GDP in 2027 from about 3.7% this year, while warning that Middle East tensions and higher energy costs remain downside risks.
