Dollar firm, yen slips as Middle East energy fears lift oil past US$100
The US dollar held near a one-week high and the yen weakened for a second day in Asian trading on Friday as renewed Middle East energy supply fears pushed oil and bond yields higher. Brent crude rose 1.2% to US$108.96 a barrel after Houthis seized Yemen's port city of Mocha, while markets await US CPI data before next week's Federal Reserve meeting.
