MBSB IB: Budget 2027 must push AI beyond data centres
MBSB Investment Bank's Budget 2027 preview says Malaysia's AI agenda should move past data centre construction into enterprise adoption, domestic IP, cybersecurity and workforce productivity. It expects federal spending to reach a record RM440.9 billion, development spending of RM85-90 billion, and the deficit to narrow to 3.3-3.5 per cent of GDP. The budget is due to be tabled on Oct 9, 2026.
