Commercial ship traffic through the Strait of Hormuz dropped to 7 on Thursday, far below the 10-day average of 15, according to ship tracker Kepler. South Korea's Foreign Minister Cho Hyun discussed the Middle East situation and safe passage with Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi by phone on Friday. Before the Iran war began on Feb 28, about 125 commercial vessels passed through the strait daily.
