Serian in Sarawak recorded an Air Pollutant Index (API) reading of 220 as of 5pm, the only area in Malaysia in the 'very unhealthy' category. Fifteen other stations recorded unhealthy readings, including Tebedu (199), Lubok Antu (198) and Lundu (197), attributed to dry weather in southern Asean and hotspots in Kalimantan and Sumatra.
