Hong Kong man, 31, confirmed with monkeypox after high-risk contact with strangers

Hong Kong's Centre for Health Protection said Thursday that a 31-year-old man has been confirmed with monkeypox. He developed fever, sore throat and mild diarrhoea on Sept 4 and went to the Tin Shui Wai Hospital emergency department before being transferred to Pok Oi Hospital, where he was isolated after mouth ulcers and a rash on his face, limbs, neck and genitals. He reported high-risk contact with several unknown men in Hong Kong during the incubation period; the centre is investigating and will notify the WHO.
